CHARLOTTE-Wyeth-Lederle Vaccines of Philadelphia continues to expand its 215-acre manufacturing, research and development campus in Sanford, NC with a new $250 million, 115,000-sf production facility, 80 miles east of Downtown Charlotte.
The campus produces pediatric vaccines that immunize humans against bacterial infections, according to Industrial Information Resources Inc., a Houston-based industry researcher.
The new expansion follows Wyeth-Lederle's completion of a $48 million, 46,000-sf bulk manufacturing structure that produces two new company vaccines, Prevenar and Meningitac. ADP Marshall Inc. of Rumford, RI, a Fluor Daniel company, was the general contractor.
