The retail center, which has been renamed Shoreview Village Mall, now has a variety of new tenants, including many with a wellness theme — a fledgling arts center and space for theater, dance performances and classes.

Shoreview Grand, which owns the complex, hired Minneapolis artist Aldo Moroni to paint a number of murals along the mall's interior walkways -- part of an attempt to create a village atmosphere. Bill Fogerty, a general partner in Shoreview Grand, calls it a wellness center in that it offers martial arts, natural foods, homeopathic goods to skin care and veterinary services.

Three large stores anchor the remodeled complex: Fresh & Natural Foods, a Hallmark gift and card shop and a Snyders drugstore. Other tenants include Metro Dance Center, a dentist, Village Trust Mortgage and Shoreview North Oaks Animal Hospital.
