PHILADELPHIA-Peter Talman, president of locally based Rubenstein Co.'s brokerage group, has resigned to join Joe Fetterman as co-managing director of Dallas-based Staubach Co.'s Philadelphia-area office, located in nearby Bala Cynwyd. Both Fetterman and Talman will carry the title of SVP, which has long been born by Fetterman.

Both men emphatically reiterate Staubach's continuing commitment to the Philadelphia market in separate interviews with GlobeSt.com, a subject that was raised in a recently published article. The conjecture took Fetterman by surprise, he says, adding, “not locally, regionally nor nationally, did Staubach ever contemplate leaving the Philadelphia market.”

Talman agreed, and said, “I'm the exclamation point on that statement.”

A native of this area, Talman left a couple of decades ago and operated his own tenant rep company in Houston, where he competed against Staubach. “Having left here, I realized what Philadelphia has to offer,” he said, and returned. He's been with Rubenstein for the past six years.

Of that company, he says, “it's a class organization, and it gave me a great platform along with experience on the owner side of the fence. I've spent 20 of my 29 years in this business on the tenant side,” he said, “and I like that best. Being on the landlord's side of the fence, however, makes me better at representing tenants,” he added.

Fetterman acknowledged that the local Staubach office saw the departure of five executives over the past approximately 18 months, a fact that was noted in an area newspaper. “The people left for various individual reasons,” he said. “We are committed to our course of building teamwork, market coverage and client services here, and we're concentrating on the team that can accomplish that goal. Peter is a perfect fit for us,” he added.

Talman officially takes up his post with Staubach on April 14.
