GARLAND, TX-An events and trade show company, bursting at the seams in its present location, has acquired a 73,137-sf office/warehouse to nearly triple in size when it moves. Fun Factory Events' team will relocate in 30 to 60 days.
As the new owners ready the building at 3366 Miller Park South, Ken Thornton also put their 23,516-sf building at 3710 S. Shiloh Rd. up for sale. Fun Factory Events' owners started to search for a relocation and expansion site in late spring, with the primary criteria being a Garland location, according to Stephen Cooper, vice president with NAI Robert Lynn in Dallas. “There were not too many options for them” he explains.
The just-bought building, owned by Metro Label Corp. of Onset, MA, has been empty since late 2006. The 4.5-acre asset was listed for $3.2 million by CB Richard Ellis associate Kevin Kelly and vice president David Sours in Dallas. “We were well below that,” Cooper tells GlobeSt.com.
Cooper says the upgrades will be primarily interior and cosmetic in nature. Fun Factory Events' new headquarters and production site is located 3.6 miles northeast from its soon-to-be-vacated address.
