MESA, AZ-Several years after launching a search for a micro-mill site, Commercial Metals Co. has bought a 227-acre parcel for $14.75 million in southeast Mesa. The Irving, TX-based company plans to start construction in early 2008.

Designs and permitting are still pending. Paul Sieczkowski, senior vice president in Phoenix for Colliers International Inc., says the project at Germann and Meridian roads is anticipated for completion by mid- to late 2009. “This is the biggest site available for CMC's use in the Southeast Valley,” says Sieczkowski, who brokered the transaction between buyer and seller, TRW Vehicle Safety Systems Inc. of Washington, MI.
