The 28-acre development is located at South Billings Boulevard and King Avenue in the heart of a rapidly growing commercial and residential market. The developer calls the 400,000-sf project "a much-needed addition to an area that is underserved by retailers."
Jeff Vitek, president of Foursquare Properties, cites Cabela's as a premier outdoor recreation brand and notes that two other current Foursquare properties are anchored by Cabela's. Those are the Gateway at Rapid City at Interstate 90 and Dyess Avenue in Rapid City, SD and the Pointe at Post Falls at Interstate 90 and Seltice Way in Post Falls, ID.
Billings Town Square's phase one and Cabela's are slated for opening in the late spring or early summer of 2008. Publicly held Cabela's describes its locations as "destination retail stores" and says that it chose the Montana location in light ofMontana's reputation as a mecca for outdoor enthusiasts from around the country.
Dennis Highby, Cabela's president and chief executive officer, adds that the Montana location ensures not only great response from customers in Montana and the surrounding region, but also "employees who are knowledgeable about hunting, fishing and the outdoors." Product offerings will include hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating and wildlife watching equipment, as well as outdoor clothing and outdoor-themed gifts and furnishings.
Cabela's operates 21 retail locations and plans to open five additional new stores in 2007. The new locations are East Hartford, CT; Hammond, IN; Reno, NV; the Post Falls store and Lacey, WA.
