STAMFORD, CT-A major block of office space in Downtown Stamford is now available for lease. A more than $2-million capital improvement program has been completed at 750 E. Main St. here.

The 103,000-sf office class A office building had served as the North American headquarters for Diageo Plc until late 2005 when the firm relocated to 801 Main Ave. in Norwalk. The interior renovations at 750 E. Main St. include: a fully remodeled lobby that features nine 60-inch televisions and a 50-foot back-lit glass panel, Wi-Fi connectivity; a new cafe; upgraded elevator cabs and common areas; a new fitness center and renovated bathrooms. The ownership, 750 Stamford Partners LLC, also added an outdoor patio and picnic area at the 11-story office property.

James Fagan, senior managing director and head of Cushman & Wakefield's Fairfield and Westchester region, and colleagues senior director Steve Banker and associate director and Adam Klimek are working on the leasing campaign. C&W is the exclusive leasing agent for the property.

C&W's Fagan says the renovations and subsequent availability of 750 E. Main St. compliment other property improvements/developments under way nearby, such as the renovation of the Holiday Inn hotel, the development of the East Side Commons and Glen View House luxury residential projects as well as the addition of a number of new stores and restaurants to the downtown district. “The redevelopment of Downtown Stamford will support the productivity and growth of the city's Central Business District,” he says. “The east side of Stamford will undergo a complete revitalization that will further it as a thriving business and residential community.”
