WESTON, FL-Cruise Line Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has signed a 267,250-sf lease at Weston Business Center. Under terms of the long-term lease, which takes effect immediately, the cruise line will occupy all of Building F.

The company will use the space as its South Florida distribution headquarters serving its port operations in Port Everglades and Miami. The company plans to move out of the 155,000-sf space it currently occupies in two buildings at Seneca Industrial Park in Pembroke Park. The building is owned by Atlanta-based IDI. IDI vice president of leasing Larry Dinner tells GlobeSt.com that Royal Caribbean will occupy space formerly occupied by Sara Lee Corp., which bought out of its lease this summer. "They were looking to sublease the space, but they decided to buy out of it instead," Dinner says.

Located west of Fort Lauderdale, it is a class A rear-load distribution facility that provides direct access to Interstate 75. It features 30-foot clear-height ceilings, 50-foot by 40-foot column spacing, 41 dock doors and two drive-in doors. Royal Caribbean has already taken possession of the space and is making capital improvements to it. With the lease, Weston Business Center is 100% occupied, Dinner says.
