BALTIMORE-The Four Points by Sheraton BWIAirport plans to shut down on Nov. 30.

The closure of the 201-room hotel coincides with the end of a30-year lease with the Maryland AviationAdministration, according to Kevin Carnes, general managerof the Four Points by Sheraton BWI Airport.

The property required about $2 million in renovation to meetstandards of Starwood Hotels and Resorts, owner of the Sheratonbrand, Carnes noted. The hotel has been impacted by a number oflocal economic factors, the federal sequestration and job cuts,according to the Baltimore Business Journal. In addition, theMaryland Aviation Administration is looking for ideas for a newairport hotel that would have added more competition to the FourPoints.
