AMES, IA—Gilbane Development Company has begun the construction of 23 Twenty Lincoln, a 320-bed student community on Lincoln Way directly across from the front gate of Iowa State University's campus in Ames, Iowa. Company officials say it will offer unmatched modern amenities for students and be ready for the 2015 academic year. ISU's Campustown neighborhood has not seen new top-of-the-line student housing since 2004.
“It is directly across the street from campus, allowing residents to walk to the Memorial Union, Cyclone Sports Complex, and ISU's academic core within minutes, and offers a private enclosed courtyard, clubhouse, and other amenities not typically found in such a proximate location,” says Robert Gilbane, chairman and chief executive officer of Gilbane.
The development will include a controlled entryway, lobby computer center and coffee bar, Hi-def TV lounge, state-of-the-art fitness center with cardio and weights, tanning room, study lounges, and a third floor clubhouse that opens directly onto a private landscaped courtyard featuring a hammock garden, fire pit and an outdoor BBQ kitchen. The property will provide free Wi-Fi and internet, bike storage and off street parking.
