TORONTO—Boston-based commercial brokerage firm SperryVan Ness International has established operations inCanada by signing a master franchise agreement with independentbrokerage firm Rock Advisors Inc.
The new firm will operate as Sperry Van Ness/RockAdvisors and according to Sperry Van Ness/Rock Advisors,Inc. CEO Derek Lobo, the firm will be looking tobring in additional franchisees to cover all major Canadian marketsthrough master franchisee SVN Canada Inc. The president of SVCanada Inc. is Jim Dimanis, the former COO of RockAdvisors.
Lobo, who was the CEO of the former Rock Advisors Inc., says hisfirm has signed a master franchise agreement for all of Canada forall real estate asset classes. Rock Advisors was an independentbrokerage firm with about 30 employees. The company maintains threeoffices in Toronto, Burlington and in Ottawa. Rock Advisors hasmore than 25 years of real estate consulting experience buying andselling multi-family rental apartments and student housing acrossCanada.
