Twin Creeks at Alamo Ranch

SAN ANTONIO, TX—The Twin Creeks at Alamo Ranch apartment complex was built by general contractor Galaxy Builders LTD. Construction on the complex started in 2015 on 16 acres of land in the Alamo Ranch master-planned community on the west side of San Antonio. HQ Capital Real Estate LP is the equity partner with SWBC Real Estate.

The project recently earned an excellence in construction award from the Associated Builders and Contractors South Texas Chapter. Galaxy Builders accepted the residential/multifamily award at a dinner program.

“This three-story apartment complex was constructed to provide residence with balcony views of the lush Texas hill country and luxurious landscaping throughout the community. The stone, gray stucco and wood accents blend to enhance the rustic feel in a metropolitan area,” Neilesh Verma, Galaxy Builders, tells GlobeSt.com. “The project had several buildings that incorporated steel beams into the framing. This allowed the architect and engineer to make better use of the space and cover greater open spans. We were very pleased with the framing and the cornice work. Twin Creeks was designed with the use of large cedar beam accents and architectural features to complement the area of Alamo Ranch.”

The class-A multifamily property features a ranch-themed clubhouse, a car wash, a fitness center, and a pool and spa. Units include stainless-steel appliances, garden tubs, gourmet kitchens and walk-in closets. The property has 21 buildings containing 300 units. The average unit size is 847 square feet comprised of one-, two- and three- bedroom apartment homes and six carriage house apartments.

“We designed the property to fit in to the existing landscape by preserving the maximum amount of native trees, improving the existing creek beds and utilizing the different elevations to give Twin Creeks a more natural look and feel,” David Dunson, chief operating officer of SWBC Real Estate LLC, tells GlobeSt.com. “The clubhouse design is typical of the South Texas/Hill Country ranch houses you would find surrounding the greater San Antonio area.”

This project will advance to the national competition later this year.
