FORT WORTH—Speed to market expedited with close proximity to BNSF Railways' headquarters/transportation hub and major highways were factors in a distributor's recent decision to locate in Fort Worth. To that end, American Tire Distributors is opening a 756,000-square-foot regional distribution center at Alliance Gateway 60.

This project is located within the 18,000-acre, master-planned mixed-use AllianceTexas site in the northern part of the city. American Tire Distributors is expected to move into the new building in early 2017.

“Speed-to-market was an important factor in American Tire Distributors' ultimate decision to locate at AllianceTexas, and Hillwood was able to quickly deliver a facility that met their operational needs,” said Tony Creme, senior vice president of Hillwood. “Additionally, the competitive tax structure, location within the Alliance Foreign Trade Zone, and close proximity to the BNSF Railways' Alliance Intermodal Facility, Interstate 35W and Texas Highway 114, also greatly benefit the company, enhancing its financial and logistics efficiencies.”

Alliance Gateway 60 is located within Roanoke and Denton County, a combination which has created a business-friendly environment by maintaining an extremely competitive tax structure in order to attract new economic opportunities. Alliance Gateway 60 is located within US Foreign Trade Zone 196, which enables global importers such as American Tire Distributors to limit costs to only the inventory that is being removed and shipped to its US distribution centers.

In addition, this location will offer American Tire Distributors the opportunity to leverage the large volume of highly skilled workers residing in the area, and benefit from the job recruitment services offered by the Alliance Opportunity Center. The location will create 60 new jobs.

“Building an efficient supply chain is a critical piece of our long-term strategic plan to deliver value to our customers and stakeholders,” said David Dickey, chief supply chain officer with American Tire Distributors. “The AllianceTexas location is ideal for American Tire Distributors to grow our business and hire great people to help us deliver on our commitments to our customers and the communities we serve.”

Adam Faulk and Ryan Browder with Jackson Cooksey represented American Tire Distributors, and Bill Burton and Crème represented Hillwood in the transaction.

AllianceTexas developed by Hillwood, a Perot Company, offers a variety of commercial real estate options, including new industrial, office and retail space. Anchored by the multi-modal inland port known as the Alliance Global Logistics Hub, AllianceTexas is home to more than 425 companies and more than 44,000 employees, GlobeSt.com learns.
