SEATTLE—The International Society of Hospitality Consultants recently revealed that Alison Hoyt was the winner of the second annual Lori Raleigh Award for Emerging Excellence in Hospitality Consulting. “Alison epitomizes young leadership and motivation, proving to be the ideal candidate for the award. She is an analytical-minded problem solver and highly respected by senior executives within STR, portraying professionalism beyond her years and a command of the hospitality industry that exceeds her experience,” said Kristie Dickinson, ISHC award committee chair and senior vice president of CHMWarnick. “She has demonstrated superior work in analytics and custom product development, and leads in many extracurricular activities, such as writing for industry trade publication Hotel News Now, among a plethora of other achievements. Her strong work ethic and drive in career progression are remarkable, and we are confident that this award will inspire her to continue to grow towards becoming a top industry leader.”

SAN FRANCISCO—HomeSuite recently revealed a first-of-its-kind service where renting a fully-furnished home or apartment is now as easy as booking a hotel. While on-demand online services have radically changed transportation, air travel and peer-to-peer apartment sharing, the real estate industry has yet to adapt. HomeSuite vets each prospective tenant, landlord and property. HomeSuite has tens of thousands of fully furnished homes and apartments in their network which currently includes New York City, San Francisco and the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Seattle and Boston.

SAN FRANCISCO—HappyCo has completed a Series A funding round of $7.5 million. Investors include 500 Startups, Point Nine, Flight Ventures and the SaaS Syndicate, a top syndicate on AngelList. HappyCo is the leading mobile inspection platform for driving operational excellence in the management of residential properties, commercial facilities and enterprise workforces. The company has powered more than 1.3 million inspections and more than 20 million inspection photos. In 2016, HappyCo has seen rapid adoption by enterprise customers — including many of the NMHC 50 list of top owners and managers.

DEALTRACKER

Hyatt Regency hotel currently under development in Seattle, WA.

SEATTLE—A Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with R.C. Hedreen Co. for the operation of a Hyatt Regency hotel currently under development in Seattle, WA. Expected to open in mid-2018, the premium, full service hotel will be located in Seattle's Denny Triangle neighborhood at 8th and 9th Avenues between Stewart and Howell Streets in downtown Seattle.

SAN FRANCISCO—One Franklin (located in the Hayes Valley area of San Francisco) recently opened its doors. It is the first residential building in San Francisco to not offer any parking for residents. Instead, residents will receive $2,500 worth of Uber credit and $2,500 worth of LUXE valet credit.

TUALATIN, OR—North Beaverton's Timberland Town Center, located at the intersection of Barnes Road and 118th Avenue, has been sold for $43.1 million. Gramor Development Inc. developed and managed the 91,000-square-foot, mixed-use, class A retail center. Located on the north side of Highway 26, just west of Highway 217 in the affluent Cedar Mill area, the development features a strong and unique national, regional and local tenant mix. Construction began at the center in late 2013; the center opened in early 2015 and was 98.5% leased at the time of the sale.

SAN FRANCISCO—Locally-based CleanFund has closed six California transactions. Property owners used CleanFund's new SolarPACE program to finance renewable energy improvements to their properties. CleanFund provided approximately $3.5 million across the six transactions. Some of the properties were located in San Jose, CA, Palm Springs, CA, and in Bakersfield, CA.

SEATTLE—Broadstone Sky, West Seattle's new address for modern living, has leased nearly 80% of its luxury apartments to residents due largely to its one-of-a-kind flats and lofts design, just steps from the best of Seattle. Located in one of the nation's fastest growing neighborhoods at the northwest corner of 40th Avenue and Edmunds Street, Broadstone Sky is at the heart of the buzzing urban city. Developed by Alliance Residential Company, the 151-unit Broadstone Sky offers residents the opportunity to be within walking distance from popular hotspot, “The Junction,” home to more than 275 local shops, boutiques, galleries and eateries. Popular beaches and recreational activities of the Puget Sound are also nearby, for enjoying the great Seattle lifestyle.

SAN FRANCISCO—Jamestown's 731 Market, a 92,023-square-foot creative office and ground floor retail complex, is now fully leased with the recent additions of Quip and Practice Fusion.

SEATTLE—A joint venture partnership between a China-based real estate holding company and a Las Vegas-based real estate developer will trigger construction on a new tower in downtown Seattle. Binjiang Tower Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hangzhou Binjiang Real Estate Group Co Ltd. and PH Seattle Tower I LLC, an affiliate of the Molasky Group of Cos., last week entered into a joint venture agreement to develop the 41-story mixed-use project formerly known as Potala Tower in the Belltown submarket in downtown Seattle. The project–which will be renamed and rebranded–was revitalized by the recommitment of previous EB5 investors and substantial new investment from the joint venture partners, who have taken complete ownership and control of the project.
