MILWAUKEE—Transwestern recently expanded its services throughout Southeast Wisconsin by hiring a group of brokers from the former Siegel-Gallagher Inc., a 20-year-old commercial real estate firm based in Milwaukee. John Dulmes, Daniel Walsh and Marianne Burish join Transwestern as executive vice presidents, while Shaun Dempsey serves as vice president. Dulmes, Walsh, Burish and Dempsey focus on tenant advisory, agency leasing and investment sales in the office sector, and have executed more than $1 billion in real estate lease transactions on behalf of building owners. The team won the 2016 Deal of the Year Award from the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin.
CHICAGO—CBRE Assessment & Consulting Services, a division of the valuation and advisory services group at CBRE, has just appointed Jessica Campbell as vice president responsible for regional business development in the Midwest. In this role, the Chicago-based Campbell will manage the group's existing client base in the region, as well as head up new business development for CBRE in the Midwest. Campbell has worked in the commercial real estate industry for five years, with extensive experience in business development, property management and property development. She was most recently a regional sales specialist at CA Ventures.
INDIANAPOLIS—CBRE Group, Inc. has just hired David Funke as the managing director of its Indianapolis operations. Funke will oversee all of CBRE's service offerings—including advisory and transactions, capital markets and enterprise facilities management—and will lead the delivery of these services to clients throughout the Indianapolis area. He was previously a first vice president in CBRE's Indianapolis office, focusing on investment sales. He has more than 25 years of industry experience, including a term as president of BOMA's Indianapolis chapter, and returned to CBRE in 2015 after serving as the principal of a privately held advisory services firm.

MINNEAPOLIS—Carlyle Realty Partners V, L.P. recently sold Centennial Shops in suburban Edina to Farmington Hills, MI-based Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust for $32 million. As reported in GlobeSt.com, Ramco just sold Fairlane Meadows, a 157,225-square-foot shopping center in Dearborn, MI for $20.65 million. It is the largest total dollar transaction for a retail property in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market so far in 2016. Located along France Ave. at 3825 Gallagher Dr., the center was 100% leased at the time of the sale.
SCHAUMBURG, IL—Sodick, Inc. recently purchased 4.92 acres of land in Schaumburg from Avanti Group, and plans to put its new North American headquarters on the site. NAI Hiffman's John Cash, executive vice president, David Haigh, vice president, and Tak O'Haru, president of WHITE CUBE LLC, represented Sodick, which manufactures EDM machines, in the transaction. Mike Magliano of Cushman & Wakefield represented Avanti. Sodick selected Northern Builders as its general contractor for the 40,000-square-foot office and showroom space at 601 Commerce St. within Woodfield Business Center along I-90. Harris Architects with civil engineering firm, SPACEO, Inc., designed the building, slated for completion in December 2017.
OAKBROOK TERRACE, IL—NAI Hiffman's Bruce Granger, senior vice president, recently completed three building transactions in the IL towns of Sycamore, Rockford, and Elgin. In Sycamore, Granger represented seller Ron Wellander and Carol Whitmore in the sale of 71 acres of land located at 1501 W. State St. to an undisclosed buyer. In Rockford, Granger represented seller, Mark V. Okkerse and Susan M. Okkerse in the sale of a 16,800-square-foot building located at 3510 Merchandise Dr. Seabass Realty, LLC was the buyer. Finally, ShopWare, Inc., a Midwest source for CAD/CAM CNC programming software, renewed it 3,207-square-foot space at 2175 Point Blvd. Granger represented ShopWare in the transaction and Mark Smith of CBRE represented the landlord.

LOUISVILLE—After a year-long, $11 million transformation, 800 Tower City Apartments in downtown Louisville showcased its rooftop Sky Park and penthouse-level Sky Club at a grand opening event held on Thursday, Oct. 27. Previously known as The 800 Building, construction on the 29-story tower began in 1961 and was completed in 1963. It stood as the tallest building in Louisville until 1971. As reported in GlobeSt.com, it was renamed 800 Tower City Apartments, and a transformation was led by Jonathan Holtzman, the co-founder, co-chairman and chief executive officer of City Club Apartments LLC. With work nearly completed on Sky Park, Sky Club and about 80% of the tower's apartment units, the company should complete renovations on the remaining apartments by late November.
CHICAGO—Baker Development Corp. will hold a ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 1 for ELEVATE Lincoln Park – its new mixed-use 191-unit luxury apartment building at 930 W. Altgeld in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. In addition to 16,300 square feet of retail space, ELEVATE will include studios, convertibles, and one-, two- and three-bedroom units. First move-ins at ELEVATE are scheduled for late 2017.
