ARLINGTON, VA–Cindy Clare has begun her term as 2017 National Apartment Association Chairman. Clare is president of Kettler Management, which she joined in 2005, assisting in the development of new communities and expanding Kettler Management's geographic reach from Washington DC to New York, South Carolina and Texas. Clare has been involved with NAA as well, working with the association “at every level,” according to NAA CEO Bob Pinnegar. One of Clare's goals as chairman will be to promote NAA affiliates' charitable works, which range from spearheading backpack drives for underprivileged students, helping in classrooms, working with students to improve reading skills, and advocating for housing and jobs. “Our members do more than just provide apartment housing, they are good corporate citizens who care greatly about their communities,” she said.
LUTHERVILLE, MD–William E. Goetschius II has joined MacKenzie Capital as vice president. Goetschius has close to 10 years of capital advisory and real estate investment experience, including serving as an acquisitions and asset management analyst for PRP Real Estate Investment Management in Washington DC.

Easton Technology Center is a small-bay, light industrial portfolio of five single-story buildings. The property was 35% leased to a local tenant mix at the time of sale.
VERONA, VA–InterChange Group is building a 108,000 square foot facility for $6 million at Mill Place Commerce Park that will house Sumitomo Drive Technologies and offer additional space for future InterChange customers. The development is expected to connect the company's other warehousing and transportation facilities along the Interstate-81 and I-64 corridors.
LYNCHBURG, VA–Maddox and Son Construction acquired 12.75 acres of land along 1125 Old Graves Mill Road here. It purchased the land from an estate for $800,000 and plans to build a 250-unit apartment building on the site. The building's owners were was represented by JLL's Brian Tucker and John Dragelin. NIKA was represented by Dale Powell and Harold Jacobsen of Cushman & Wakefield.
