MINNEAPOLIS—Ryan Cos. has just named Casey Hankinson its senior vice president – national build-to-suit. Hankinson will leverage the more than 40 million square feet of projects the Minneapolis-based company has developed in the past 10 years to further position the company as a national leader among corporate customers. He has been with Ryan since 2007 and most recently was vice president of development. Prior to joining Ryan, he spent two years at United Properties as a commercial real estate broker and played in the National Hockey League with the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks. The University of Minnesota graduate was also a former Gopher hockey player.

CHICAGO—The Chicago Chapter of the SIOR recently presented the 15th Annual Chapter Awards in a presentation held at Bub City/Joe's Live in Rosemont, IL. The program honored the organization's Platinum Sponsors and SIOR members for their outstanding achievement throughout the year. The following are some of the individual awards: Intra Chapter – Largest number of transactions – Sean Henrick, of Cushman & Wakefield with 22 transactions; Largest Dollar Volume Industrial Build-to-Suit for lease with a Platinum Sponsor – Jason West and Henrick of Cushman & Wakefield represented an e-commerce client and John Suerth, of CBRE represented Duke Realty Corp. for the leasing of 954,720 square feet valued at $72,300,000; Largest Dollar Volume Industrial Building Sale with a Platinum Sponsor – Ron Behm and David Bercu of Colliers International represented Platinum Sponsor, Prologis, for the purchase of a 131,728 square foot building valued at $22,750,000.

CHICAGO—CBRE has just named Neil Pendleton its managing director of asset services in Chicago. In this role, Pendleton will oversee 61 million square feet of office, industrial and retail properties in the Chicago region, as well as 400 asset services personnel. Pendleton joined CBRE in 1998 and began Chicago's local project management business, which has grown to include 52 members under his leadership. Since 2014, Pendleton has led all local project management operations for the Midwest Region, which earned recognition as the top revenue generating region in the Americas. “Neil has proven himself to be an extremely skilled and recognized leader at CBRE and has consistently earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike,” said Norm Bertke, executive managing director of asset services at CBRE.

BENSENVILLE, IL—National Sugar Marketing LLC has just signed a five-year renewal for CenterPoint Properties' 500-510 Country Club Dr. in Bensenville, IL, a Chicago suburb. The 301,228 square foot property includes 5,134 square feet of office space. Christopher Volkert and Ashley Smith, of Colliers International, represented NSM in the transaction while Richard Daly, of Darwin Realty, represented CenterPoint. The Savannah-GA-based NSM is a partnership between Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative, Sucden Americas Corp., and the Amalgamated Sugar Co. that markets sugar under the NSM, NSM/SMBSC co-branded, Spreckels and White Satin labels. “We're thrilled to see NSM renew at Country Club Dr. and look forward to continuing our successful partnership for years to come,” said Danielle Radtke, vice president, regional manager of operations at CenterPoint.

GENEVA, IL—Berkadia recently helped complete the sale of Ashford at Geneva, located at 350-420 Brittany Court in Geneva, IL. Alex Blagojevich and Ralph DePasquale of the Chicago office negotiated the transaction. The 226-unit property sold at a 5.14% cap rate on March 30. Berkadia represented the seller, RADCO of Atlanta. The buyer was an affiliate of Oak Residential Partners of Deerfield, IL. As reported in GlobeSt.com, RADCO bought the property in 2013, when it was acquiring many underperforming, well-located multifamily assets with value-added potential. “The sellers had done a wonderful job of renovating the property, updating the clubhouse and 24-hour fitness room as well as a number of unit interiors,” said DePasquale. “The new owners should do well with continued unit interior upgrades, and maintaining this is a great long-term investment.” Built in 1990, the property features 36 one-bedroom floor plans and 190 two-bedroom floor plans.

MINNEAPOLIS—Headwaters Development will break ground on April 13 for Stonehaven of Eagan, its new 95-unit senior living community just south of Yankee Doodle Rd. at 1000 Station Trail in suburban Eagan. Ebenezer Management Services will manage the four-story, 130,000-square-foot development. Built by Engelsma Construction and designed by Kaas Wilson Architects, Stonehaven offers seniors a variety of housing options, ranging from independent living to customized assisted living, including 24/7 care and services. The new community consists of 80 independent senior living apartments and assisted living units, and 15 memory care apartments – featuring a variety of styles and floorplans. Outdoor amenities include multiple decks, covered patios, beautiful landscaping and walking paths.
