LUTHERVILLE, MDMike Ruocco has joined MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services' brokerage division as a senior real estate consultant. Ruocco, who specializes in retail leasing and sales, will be located in the firm's headquarter location in Lutherville and continue to represent clients within the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area. Ruocco was with Colliers International and JLL prior to joining MacKenzie.

McLEAN, VA–The category of All Suites brands by Hilton has reached its 800th property milestone with the opening of the Homewood Suites by Hilton New Orleans French Quarter. This category includes three brands from Hilton: Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. The All Suites brands has more than 530 hotels in the pipeline domestically and internationally, in urban, suburban, and 'surban' locations.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA–The I-81 Corridor and south on I-95 around Fredericksburg, Va., are now getting the bulk of the industrial development that typically went to Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland submarkets, according to JLL. Last mile, e-commerce and services do continue to drive demand in the traditional submarkets, including Prince William, Loudoun, Prince George's and Frederick, but land availability and labor are driving most of the 200,000 square foot plus users to opportunities along I-81 and Fredericksburg, it says.

HUNT VALLEY, MDMcCormick & Co. has tapped CBRE Group to market two of its headquarters buildings, which total over 273,000 square feet as well as 60 acres of land. McCormick is consolidating its four current headquarters buildings into a single 323,000 square foot corporate campus in Hunt Valley, Md. 211 Schilling Circle, is a four-story, 128,471-square foot building on six acres of land in Hunt Valley. 18 Loveton Circle is a five-story office building consisting of 145,271 square feet that sits on 54 acres in Sparks, Md. McCormick is expected to vacate the spaces by the end of 2018.

BETHESDA, MDFirst Potomac is rumored to be seeking a sale, according to a news report in Bloomberg (hat tip to the Washington Business Journal). Separately, as part of the REIT's earnings for Q1, CEO Bob Milkovich reported that 540 Gaither is in active redevelopment with two floors already pre-leased and there is the potential for a short-term extension with the Bureau of Prisons at 500 First St. The REIT made more than $100 million in non-core asset sales during the quarter, he also said.

LAUREL, MDLee & Associates Maryland has brokered a 35,000 square foot lease to Carbiz, a used car dealership and repair facility at 8751 Freestate Dr., a single-story, 105,000 square foot industrial building situated on approximately seven acres of land. Allan Riorda of Lee & Associates Maryland represented the tenant and Rick McCoy of Konterra Realty represented the landlord, Freestate Owner, LLC. Carbiz is currently scouting sites throughout the Maryland-Washington, DC-Northern Virginia region.

CHANTILLY, VABohler Engineering helped break the ground on the 180,000 square foot The Field at Commonwealth, part of Regency Center's Commonwealth Centre here. The REIT recently announced it is adding another Wegmans to anchor the retail center, with Wegmans taking 120,000 square feet of the $44.5 million development. Bohler secured both zoning entitlement and site plan approval.
