Dave Cheatham, president of X Team International and president of Phoenix-based Velocity Retail Group

LAS VEGAS—“RECon has always held a strong educational value for our team, and I expect to learn a great deal.” Those thoughts are according to Bryce Turner, chairman of DDG. He tells GlobeSt.com that he looks forward to hearing what is happening in the industry, what trends are emerging in the real estate world and “networking with my friends who work in this space every day and are experiencing the same industry shifts we are.”

He adds that “Having the ability to promote DDG's reinvigorated brand to such a high-level audience will also be a big highlight for us this year.”

Sembler CEO, Ron Wheeler, tells GlobeSt.com that he too is excited to talk about all that's going on at his firm. “We're doing more new, ground-up development than we have in many years, and our acquisition fund is robust and growing. We remain committed to developing, acquiring and enhancing existing centers that meet the needs of the communities they serve by bringing in exceptional tenants and providing them the best opportunity to succeed.”

He explains that Sembler has approximately 530,000 square feet under development across the Southeast, with strong growth in the grocery-anchored sector accounting for the majority of development.

Dave Cheatham, president of X Team International and president of Phoenix-based Velocity Retail Group, tells GlobeSt.com that ICSC is a time when all the players in the business are in one place, shoulder-to-shoulder. He says that it is a “rare opportunity to be able to bring all parties together at an in-person meeting and provide the connectivity needed to establish stronger relationships between all parties.”

Lori Bongiorno, principal and commercial studio director at M+A Architects, a Columbus, OH-based architecture firm, is also eager to continue to build relationships with clients and others in the industry, as well as develop new relationships at the event. “RECon also gives me the opportunity to attend so I can remain educated on the latest trends and see what developers and retailers are doing.

GlobeSt.com is providing wall-to-wall coverage of ICSC's RECon show in Las Vegas May 20-24.
