ARLINGTON, VA–Skanska has named Robert Ward president and CEO for Skanska USA Commercial Development. He is succeeding Shawn Hurley, who is leaving the company after seven years. Ward will report to Skanska AB Executive Vice President Claes Larsson, who oversees Skanska's Commercial Development operations globally. Ward will continue to be based in Arlington. Ward has more than 20 years of experience in both the real estate development and construction industries, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer for Skanska USA Commercial Development. Earlier in his Skanska tenure, he served as both the Executive Vice President of development operations in Washington, DC and the interim EVP of development operations in Houston.
WASHINGTON, DC–Georgiana Condoiu has joined the Washington office of Avison Young from CBRE's National Loan & Portfolio Sale Advisors, where she was a senior analyst. She joins Avison Young as a Vice President in the Capital Markets group. Prior to her role at CBRE, Condoiu worked with ING Investment Management (now Clarion Partners), where she assisted with acquisitions and asset management initiatives in the Washington metro area. Before joining ING, Condoiu was a development associate with Federal Development.
DEAL TRACKER
Ranson, WV–A joint venture partnership between Heidenberg Properties Group and Strategic Real Estate Partners have acquired The Potomac Marketplace for $35.9 million. The 370,000-square foot shopping center is anchored by a 61,000-square foot Weis Supermarket, a 122,000-square foot Home Depot, an 88,000-square foot Kohl's, and a 15,000-square foot Petco. The center is 92% occupied and has approximately 51,000-square feet of inline store space and outlots.
WILMINGTON, DE–An affiliate of Delle Donne Associates has purchased the the AstraZeneca North Campus, a four office complex that totals 865,000 square feet, from AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca entered into a sale-leaseback of the two main buildings. JLL's Jim Galbally, Blaise Fletcher John Plower, Erin Miller, Chad Orcutt and Brett Grifo arranged the sale.
