JACKSONVILLE, FL—Franklin Street appointed Josh Dohring to its North Florida office. Dohring has been named an associate director, retail leasing and will join the retail tenant services team. He joined the team this month after relocating from Seattle. Dohring specializes in retail tenant representation and development throughout Jacksonville and North Florida. Since 2006, he has participated in a wide spectrum of commercial real estate transactions, including investment sales, leasing and property management. His extensive relationships and broad experience in all aspects of the industry gives him the unique ability to connect with and deliver added value to retail landlords and tenants alike.

TAMPA, FL—Federal Capital Partners acquired The Commons Apartments, a 200-unit, garden-style apartment community in Tampa, for $24.05 million. Located off Dale Mabry Highway in North Tampa, The Commons features a barbeque and picnic area, playground, dog park, a clubhouse, swimming pool along with spacious, air-conditioned units with private balconies, kitchen pantries, oversize closets and other family-oriented features. FCP will be making capital improvements to the community including the conversion of the leasing office to a gym and the addition of washers and dryers to the individual units.
MIAMI—HFF brokered the $25 million sale of LA Fitness Plaza, a 105,453-square-foot, fitness- and food-anchored community shopping center in the South Florida community of Palm Beach Gardens. The HFF team marketed the property on behalf of the seller, Barings Real Estate Advisers on behalf of an institutional investor. Fondo Atlas purchased the retail center free and clear of financing. “LA Fitness Plaza performed well and delivered attractive returns for our client during our ownership period,” says Dave Romano, managing director at Barings.
BOCA RATON, FL—Cushman & Wakefield negotiated an 11,486-square-foot office relocation lease with White Oak Commercial Finance, LLC at Mizner Park Office Tower. Managing director John K. Criddle and senior associate Joseph J. Freitas represented building owners GGP and Clarion Partners in securing the long-term lease. Adam Starr of CBRE represented White Oak. White Oak is a San Francisco-based investment advisor focused on direct lending and specialty finance.
WEST PALM BEACH, FL—Cushman & Wakefield negotiated the sale of 231 Royal Palm Way, an 11,576-square-foot freestanding office building on Palm Beach's Banker's Row. Michael Osiecki and Mark L. Pateman negotiated the disposition on behalf of 231 Royal Palm Way, LLC. Primary Properties, Inc., a subsidiary of Cranston, RI-based Procaccianti Properties, acquired the asset for $9.2 million, or $795 per square foot.
BUILDING BLOCKS
MIAMI—Aston Martin and property developer G&G Business Developments broke ground on Aston Martin Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way in Miami, confirming that construction of the 66-story luxury condominium tower is set for completion in 2021. The milestone marks the development of Aston Martin's first real estate project, and the brand's expansion into luxury residential design. Aston Martin Residences at 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way is the first condominium tower to break ground in Downtown Miami this year.
