DALLAS—Franklin Byrd has joined Transwestern as managing senior vice president–corporate operations and finance, a new position created to enhance finance, accounting, reporting, compliance and administrative functions across the Transwestern family of companies.

DENVER—​Apto ​announced​ ​that​ ​it​ ​has​ ​hired​ ​Angela​ ​Tucci​ ​as​ ​chief​ ​executive​ ​officer. Tanner​ ​McGraw,​ ​Apto's​ ​founder​ ​and​ ​former​ ​CEO,​ ​will​ ​continue​ ​as​ ​chairman​ ​of​ ​the​ ​board​ ​and will​ ​take​ ​on​ ​a​ ​new​ ​role​ ​as​ ​the​ ​company's​ ​chief​ ​strategy​ ​officer.

DALLAS—9Round, the world's fastest-growing kickboxing fitness franchise, hosted its grand opening today at Mockingbird Station Shopping Center at 5307 E. Mockingbird Lane, suite 105. This is the first of three 9Round locations for franchisee Hemal Patel.

FORT WORTH—CBRE announces the sale of 9.25 acres at the southeast corner of I-30 and Westmoreland Road. QuikTrip purchased the tract from Dallas County Hospital System for an undisclosed price. David Glasscock, senior vice president with CBRE in Dallas, represented Dallas County Hospital System in the sale.

HILLSBORO, TX—STRIVE announces the sale of Hillsboro Shopping Center, a 43,528-square-foot retail center located off I-35 and Corsicana Highway.

IRVING, TX—DecisionEd signed a 4,098-square-foot lease at Valley Centre. Brandon Avedikian and Andrew Scudder Holt Lunsford Commercial represented the landlord and Wilson Brown with CBRE represented the tenant.

MCALLEN, TX—Tru Fit Athletic Clubs, a 33,000-square foot net-leased property, has sold. Philip Levy, senior managing director investments and Blake Davis, associate in Marcus & Millichap's Fort Worth office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a private investor. In less than one month of marketing the property, the buyer, a REIT, was secured by Levy. The REIT purchased the property in an all-cash transaction and closed within two weeks after placing the property under-contract. Tru Fit Athletic Clubs is located at 4037 West Expressway 83.

MCALLEN, TX—Starbucks, a 2,000-square-foot net-leased property, has sold. The asset had a listing price of $1.99 million. James H. Bell, first vice president investments in Marcus & Millichap's Houston office, and John Glass, executive managing director investments in Marcus & Millichap's San Francisco office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a developer. The buyer, an individual/personal trust, was secured and represented by Joseph Lising, first vice president investments in Marcus & Millichap's Newport Beach office. Starbucks is located at 3904 North McColl Rd.

RICHARDSON, TX—Sheils Winnubst PC signed a 5,306-square-foot expansion and extension at 1701 Collins. Brandon Avedikian and Andrew Scudder with Holt Lunsford Commercial represented the landlord.

KATY, TX—NAI Partners represented Parkside Capital in the sale of approximately 21 acres of retail land in West Ten Business Park. Joe Rothchild of Retail Rental Fund I Ltd. closed on approximately 11.81 acres of retail land with frontage on I-10. Preliminary development plans for the site include a 60,000-square-foot multi-tenant retail development in phase one with more than 4 acres of land available for additional retail and restaurant uses in phase two. Ace Manor Property Management I Ltd. closed on approximately 9.13 acres of land and is considering uses ranging from retail to professional office. Jeremy Moss of ARC Management represented Ace Manor in the transaction.
