SEATTLE—The Greater Columbus Convention Center Expansion and Renovation breathes new life into this emblematic civic complex. The $140 million, multi-building project adds 137,000-square-feet of new space and renovates 800,000-square-feet of the existing structure. Schooley Caldwell Associates served as associate architect for the project, with Corna Kokosing Construction Company and Elford, Inc. as Construction Manager. In the nearly 25 years since the original convention center was constructed in 1993, downtown Columbus has undergone a dramatic transformation. The new expansion reflects this growth, recalibrating the experience of the facility to the current urban fabric of the city—engaging the pedestrian activity and public spaces of downtown, as well as the thriving Short North neighborhood. The prominent new glazed civic entry embodies this transformation.

SEATTLE—Dermody Properties, a national real estate investment, development and management company, specializing in acquisitions and development of logistics real estate, recently leased a 210,700-square-foot industrial facility in Lakewood, WA, to an international appliance manufacturer. The facility, known as LogistiCenterSM at I-5, is located one-half mile from the intersection of I-5 and SR-512 in Lakewood. The building will serve as an appliance warehousing and distribution center.

PORTLAND—Cushman & Wakefield has completed a major remodel of its longtime real estate services office in downtown Portland, OR. Located on the park-like terrace level of 200 SW Market St, the firm's revamped digs feature several new design enhancements and amenities making for a more collaborative, technologically-advanced, functionally efficient, and enjoyable workplace. A tenant of 200 Market since 1989, Cushman & Wakefield temporarily operated from another suite within the building while renovations took place over the summer.
