LAWRENCEVILLE, GA-The Huntsville, AL-based developer has purchased 130 acres for an undisclosed sum at the 1,500-acre Gwinnett Progress Center in suburban Atlanta where it hopes to construct an eight-building, flex-space mini park totaling 1.5 million sf.
BETHESDA, MD-Crestline Hotels & Resorts is chosen to manage the in-progress Georgia Tech Hotel and executive Conference Center. The hotel management company will oversee the $148 million complex, which will feature a 250-room hotel and 21,000 sf of meeting space.
SMYRNA, GA-The four-story building is the fifth on the 45-acre suburban campus the Belgian-owned company occupies five miles north of Downtown Atlanta in Cobb County. Completion is scheduled for 2003.
BALTIMORE, MD-Contractors are working away on the $100 million Lockwood Place office and retail complex. The project is expected to be completed in 2003 and will offer 250,000 sf of office space as well as retail venues and a much-needed parking lot.
RICHMOND, VA-Representing buyers Kroger Limited Partnership, Insignia Thalhimer completes the sale of the former Homeplace building in the area's Short Pump community. The 55,000-sf structure will be converted to a Kroger grocery store that will open in the summer of 2002.
GREENBELT, MD-The Commerce Center II office complex is snapped up for $16.9 million by Frederick County's Butera Properties. The 129,964-sf property is fully leased, with the first lease set to roll over in 2009.
CHARLOTTE-Grading for the first 200,000-sf building is under way and is expected to be completed in early 2002. The six-building Airport West complex is on Sam Wilson Road near I-85, I-485, the airport and Wilkinson Boulevard.
GREENVILLE, SC-The auto manufacturer is taking the space on 14.7 acres for at least 10 years and expects to invest $4 million in the structure scheduled to open in April.
ARLINGTON, VA-The California Public Employees Retirement System and Indiana's Simon Property Group are now equal owners of the celebrated Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in the Washington, DC area. Both companies previously held minority stakes in the property, which is valued at $365 million.
