SALEM, OR-The top Burger King franchiser in the region tells GlobeSt.com it has obtained the rights to open up Del Taco restaurants between Woodburn and Corvallis. It hopes to open up the first location, either leased or owned, by the end of next year.
GRESHAM, OR-The Oregon chapter of the American Planning Association gives its 2001 "Professional Achievement" award to the City of Gresham for its work on Gresham Station, the retail portion of a larger mixed-use project. The city's building official also has been recognized.
PORTLAND-The financing, through Archon Financial, pays off a $14 million Wells Fargo construction loan for the high end, 131-unit market rate apartment building in the condominium-filled Pearl District. The building sold out within six months of the first move in last September.
PORTLAND-Locally-based Parr Financial buys the 173,392-sf, three-story building in the heart of Downtown from CT Investments Inc, a New York-based individual investor that has held the property for several years. Nordstrom has 17 years left on a lease that includes options to 2037.
VANCOUVER, WA-The project, if it is built, would include a 6,500-sf sports arena, a 28,000-sf convention center and a 174-room hotel. The buildings would fill four blocks south of Esther Short Park.
PORTLAND-The Elmsford, NY-based company leased shell space in the industrial park for about 36 cents per sf per month and is now working on a multi-million build out of the facility for film processing.
PORTLAND-The timer company says the moves will net the company some $40 million with which it plans to pay down debt. The company lost $6.8 million on revenues of $166 million during the second quarter.
Vancouver, WA-The city council votes 6-0 to raise all building fees by 36% and raise development fees by an average of 32%. To boot, the city intends to review fees again in early 2003, with the goal of bumping them up by another 40%.
MAUI, HI-The 288-unit apartment complex, one of the largest on the island, was recently converted from short-term vacation rentals into long-term apartment rentals. It is owned by Del Mar Pacific Group.
VANCOUVER, WA-As consultants mull new uses for the oldest military post in the Northwest, Brian and Mike McMenamin are considering it for a venture similar to their transformation of the 38-acre Multnomah County poor farm into a thriving, alcohol-oriented resort.
