MIAMI-The transfer of Gregory Rumpel from New Zealand signals a move on the part of the firm's hotel investment banking service to increase its activity in South Florida, company officials say. Rumpel is a former senior consultant for Arthur Andersen's Real Estate Services Group in Australia.

MIAMI-The locally based company reported a net loss of $1 million, or seven cents a share, on sales of $15.1 million for the third quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a net loss of $1.9 million, or three cents a share, on revenue of $3.8 million for the same period in the prior year.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL-Residents in a three-story apartment building complained that La Rive, a a 43-unit structure planned on a less-than-an-acre site by developers Christian D. Wissing and Vicenzo Esposito, will block out the sun from their property. The bureaucratic quandary here is that all city agencies, except the commission, have previously approved the venture. The city's final decision is set for March 15. Fort Lauderdale is 26 miles north of Downtown Miami.
