SAN DIEGO-A bank, tanning salon, postal services company and dry cleaner all ink leases for retail space at Renaissance, the mixed-use project rising on a full city block in downtown San Diego.

SAN DIEGO-San Diego Mayor Dick Murphy appoints Ontai, a principal in his own architectural and urban planning firm, as a member of the city's planning commission. In addition, Anthony Lettieri is named chairman, and Barry Schultz assumes Lettieri's old post as vice-chairman.

SAN DIEGO-According to the newest report by the State of California Employment Development Department, the county started off 2003 with a drop in employment. The EDD research shows that the unemployment rate here rose slightly from 4.2% in December of 2002 to 4.4% in January of 2003.
