SEATTLE-Metropolitan King County Council members this week passed a measure designed to encourage and aid in the creation of affordable housing in King County. The council revised the maximum credit authority of the county's credit enhancement program.
SEATTLE-Locally-based Crista Ministries has sold the Alderbrook Inn, an 88-year-old resort on Hood Canal, to North Forty Lodging, also a Seattle company. The non-profit Christian organization had owned the Inn for the past three years.
SEATTLE-L.J. Melody & Co., a national real estate investment-banking firm, has arranged financing in the amount of $12.38 million for a 123,000-sf industrial facility here. Construction of the property, which is leased by Federal Express, was recently completed in 2001.
BREMERTON, WA-Citing a weak economy, Port Blakely Communities has temporarily backed out of its plans to build a 440-acre industrial and housing development here on the Kitsap Peninsula. The project has been delayed at least a year.
SEATTLE-Changing with the market, Lorig Associates has axed 61,000-sf of office from its plans for the Welch Hardware property at 23rd Avenue and S. Jackson Street. Instead, it will add an additional 55 units of housing to the now largely residential project.
SEATTLE-Located on "Pill Hill" at 701 Terry Ave., the $30-million multi-family project will feature 80 residential units in an 18-to-19-story building. The conditional approval includes a special exception to allow the developer to exceed the maximum height limit of 160 feet.
