RICHFIELD, MN-The company plans to open 60 stores in the US and 13 in Canada over the 12 months starting Feb. 27. About half will be its 30,000-sf format, with the rest split between its 20,000-sf and 45,000-sf formats.
MINNEAPOLIS-The company has plans for 10 to 14 outdoor sporting goods stores this year. All of the stores will be 55,000 sf or larger. One store, in Duluth, is replacing a smaller, older store.
ST. PAUL-The proposal likely would be run in conjunction with Indian tribes who do not benefit from having casinos near the Twin Cities. The proceeds would help pay for stadiums for the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and University of Minnesota Gophers football team.
SHAKOPEE, MN-The store here is the first opened by Roundy's since buying the Twin Cities grocery store chain two years ago. The Milwaukee-based grocer has plans to find sites for three to five more, as well as at least four significant remodeling this year.
ST. PAUL-The biotech incubator has signed a clinical research firm called Prism Research. The company landed $24.2 million in financing and is rapidly filling out its 120,000 sf of office and research space.
MINNEAPOLIS-The construction company has named Jack Schletty, its former St. Paul division chief, as its corporate executive vice president in charge of business development and community relations.
NEW ULM, MN-The Associated Milk Producers Inc. plant was destroyed by fire last month. Insurance will cover much of the costs, but the cooperative is looking for government assistance as well.
GRAND RAPIDS, MN-The nonprofit company, whose biggest customer is the US Postal Service, is raising $8 million to pay for the expansion and some other improvements, including renovating its plant in Hibbing.
ROCHESTER, MN-Weakening sales lead the electronics manufacturing firm add to its cutbacks. The company will sublease its original plant in Rochester and some space in Chaska, Rochester and other locations as well as shut down plants in Massachusetts and Brazil.
MOUNDS VIEW, MN-The $65-million complex would consist of two complexes on a 118-acre golf course and house Medtronic's cardiac rhythm management division. A deal in neighboring New Brighton has fallen through.
