SAN ANTONIO-This morning, engineers and contractors started surveying the Watermark Hotel site to assess damage and try to determine what caused a four-story brick wall to fall. A worker and pedestrian were injured in Wednesday's collapse.
AUSTIN-The latest numbers look better than they actually are, says an executive with the Austin Hotel-Motel Association. RevPAR is up 5.8%, occupancy rose 1.3% and the average room rate went up 3.5%. Still, there's no cause to celebrate.

AUSTIN-Southwest Housing has started its second Austin-area project. The Pleasant Valley Villas will add 280 units to the city's southeast submarket. Set on 40 acres, the complex will deliver in late 2003.
AUSTIN-The alliance sits down with the GSA to present its suggested location for a $62-million federal courthouse. Of the three sites under review, the alliance is pushing Intel's 10-story "see-through" office building.
AUSTIN-The tenant goes for 3,500 sf at Ferguson Lane Business Park, a new project that is to have 62,000 sf in 11 buildings at full build-out. The inbound Capital Fleet Services gains 1,000 sf with the new deal.
BRYAN, TX-A Dallas-based investment group buys the one-year-old Signature Park in Bryan-College Station or better known as home to Texas A&M University. The property was sold in four months following heated bidding for the 94%-occupied premier asset.
