AUSTIN-Three new buildings, totaling 323,500 sf, and 140,000 sf of sublease space intensify conditions in the southwest submarket. Since June, vacancy has nearly doubled to 14.4% and rent's down by nearly $2 per sf.

AUSTIN-It seems Austin's convention center expansion was just what the World Congress of Information Technology was seeking. The host city could reap some $17 million in revenue from the big-draw conference.

AUSTIN-It's too early to tell if it's a trend, but it's at least a start. For the first time in a year, sublease space dips. Some 17,000 sf is pulled from available Austin space, says market watcher Mike Buls. The total now is 3.426 million sf.

AUSTIN-The latest real estate value cycles report puts Austin at the forefront for value-driven investors in office, multifamily and hotel sectors. The state capital's bright spot is the hotel market, predicting a dramatic occupancy rise in the coming years.

SAN ANTONIO-Intertech Flooring renews a 12,800-sf lease with Denver-based ProLogis Trust. The Austin-based tenant has its San Antonio location in the three-building Perrin Creek complex in the northeast submarket.
