AUSTIN-The Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce is rewarding those companies that have provided superior customer service. Making the list is Redwood City, CA-based DPR Construction's Austin office, which counts CarrAmerica and Motorola as clients.

AUSTIN-An Austin-based high-tech firm has made sure it has ample room to grow, signing for 50,000 sf. The immediate game plan for 724 Solutions is to occupy 20,000 sf and sublease the balance until it's needed.

SAN ANTONIO-Operational Technologies has grabbed a 52,675-sf chunk of sublease space in its headquarters city of San Antonio. The high-tech firm has inked the deal for a piece of a service center occupied by an office furniture distributor.

AUSTIN-Austin-based BGI, an operator of 361 Charity Stations in Texas, has partnered with Seattle-based Wescom Capital to beef up its count to 500 by October. The joint venture will be based in Seattle, but draw on staff from both cities.

AUSTIN-The Kucera Co. has launched infrastructure construction for a mixed-use project while talks ensue with a hotel developer. The Spirit of Texas Drive will open up the project's 110 acres, situated near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

AUSTIN-In comparison to Silicon Valley, Austin is a good deal. Texas A&M economist Mark Dotzour says real estate is cheaper and a skilled workforce makes the state capital an attractive landing spot for technology companies.

AUSTIN-Patronis Group and Fairfield Residential are partnering on a $19.3-million, class A townhouse project in Austin's far northwest submarket. The 154-unit undertaking very well could be the last to come out of the ground until job growth improves.

SAN ANTONIO-Home Depot has acquired a 253,056-sf distribution center, part of which will be used as a regional facility to service about 20 Central Texas locations. With the Vaughn Industrial Park buy comes rental income from other tenants.
