In recent months opportunity zones (OZ) have become a major topic of interest among investors, developers, urban planners and community activists.

Construction of phase one is expected to begin immediately and will include 283 premier independent living, assisted living and memory care units.

The property at 225 Indian Creek in the heart of Mid-Miami Beach was sold by SMS Lodging, which is owned and managed by the Arnoldsson family, and R^2 Companies.

Denholtz Properties, which has a portfolio of office, industrial and retail space in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida, also announced the sale of a parcel of land adjacent to its 1000 N. Ashley Avenue office building in Downtown Tampa to Mill Creek of Boca Raton, FL.

The purchase of the 29-story office tower follows Bridge Investment's purchase of the Offices at Flagler Station and the Offices at Doral Square.

"The demand for retail investments in Jacksonville is very strong," says JLL's Brad Peterson.

ArborCrowd seeks to raise $5.15 million from investors for the remaining equity, which has been pre-funded into the project by an affiliate of ArborCrowd. The sponsor broke ground on the development in April, and construction is expected to be completed towards the end of 2020.
