The acquisition includes three multifamily properties in the Houston metro area totaling 1,392 units; two properties in Tampa, FL totaling 1,231 units and a 253-unit property in Salt Lake City, UT.
The acquisition, which also includes an adjoining 1.8-acre surface parking lot, adds City Centre I's 229,600 square feet to Unico's portfolio in Downtown Salt Lake City, which now totals more than 1 million square feet of space.
The new tenant representation team also includes tenant advisors Ted Lacy, Tyler Roeller and Josh Evans. Together, they bring more than 40 years of experience, working with retailers like Ace Hardware, Wendy's and The Little Gym International across the US.
The property was part of a multi-property acquisition strategy, across multiple states, to fulfill the buyer's 1031 exchange requirement, Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors states.
Maxx Properties plans to undertake what it terms will be a comprehensive modernization program including improvements to the clubhouse, all common areas and full unit renovations.
