ATLANTA-The 225-worker software firm has outgrown its quarters in Alpharetta, GA and is moving in December to Roswell, GA, about 20 miles north of Downtown Atlanta. The seven-year lease is valued at about $10.8 million.

ATLANTA-The state of Georgia plans to buy the 151,000-acre Swamp of Toa from the St. Joe Co.of Jacksonville, FL for $30 million to use as a wildlife management area. The price equates to $198 per acre or about a half cent psf. The Nature Conservancy of Georgia is buying the freshwater swampland now and will broker the deal for the state until Georgia acquires funds to close the transaction.
DOUGLASVILLE, GA-Dawn Foods Products is looking at a March opening for its new 35,000-sf manufacturing plant under construction on 17 acres in Douglasville, about 20 miles west of Atlanta. The estimated construction cost of the structure is $1.75 million.
ATLANTA-While single-family housing has peaked, multifamily activity has rebounded in some areas, particularly DeKalb and Gwinnett counties, because of the easing of density constraints. Overall, single-family and multifamily building permits are expected to slide from a high this year of 55,660 to 51,775 in 2001 and fewer than 50,000 in 2002.
