MIAMI-Local investors Scott Silver and Fredric Garvett, of Grouper Financial Inc., paid $18.5 million for the former Burger King world headquarters here. The seller was New Cutler Bay Corp.
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL-The negative absorption of 60,427 sf in the third quarter was a big improvement compared with the negative 175,131 sf in the second quarter, according to a new Cushman & Wakefield report. Additionally, the county experienced a decline in office vacancy by 50 basis points to 15.4% in the third quarter, according to a new report by Grubb & Ellis.
MIAMI-South Beach Resort Development LLC has received a $6.3 million mezzanine loan, arranged by LJ Melody & Co., for the development of the five-star project, called The Regent South Beach.
MIAMI-The company bought 10 acres at Dolphin Commerce Center from Swerdlow Group for more than $6.5 million, or about $650,000 per acre. Plans are to develop two 80,000-sf to 90,000-sf, class A office buildings there.

MIAMI-Residents plan to move into the 199-residence loft condominium development Downtown this December. The developer is locally based Neo Concepts LLC, which also is developing NeoVertika, a 443-unit loft condominium project in the city.
BOCA RATON, FL-The 188,000-sf shopping center's four new leases, which total 9,426 sf and are worth close to $1.8 million, bring the center's occupancy to 97%. The four companies that signed leases recently are Casual Male, Verizon Wireless, EB Games and Jersey Mikes.
MIAMI-Several companies are inking deals at the 1.4 million-sf, 30-building business park, which is undergoing major renovations. The third-quarter deals have an estimated value of close to $8.8 million. Year to date, 236,000 sf in leases have been signed at the park.
