AUSTIN-The Austin-based real estate group is adding nearly 200,000 sf of retail to its portfolio. It just bought one center, but has three more in various development stages around town. Two projects are in the southwest submarket.
ROUND ROCK, TX-Simon Property Group's newest project calls for 133 acres with 750,000 sf of retail, a hotel, 250 residential units and 50,000 to 100,000 sf of office space. The acreage will be carved from a 1,435-acre residential community.
AUSTIN-Gardere Wynne Sewell, headquartered in Dallas, lines up 7,837 sf at the class A CBD high-rise. The law firm's office choice is in the tallest tower of the three-tiered building, now 84% occupied.
AUSTIN-A high-profile task force has cast its ballot on Block 21, the CBD project area bought from Computer Sciences Corp. A dense, mixed-use project with ground-floor retail leads the suggested uses.
AUSTIN-The 86,276-sf, fully leased Govalle Shopping Center is bought from San Antonio-based grocer, H-E-B. Endeavor makes the purchase with a 10-year, fixed-rate loan from Bank of America.
SAN ANTONIO-SKJ Partners is gearing up to redo the Residences, a 127-unit, class B high-rise at 1550 Jackson Keller in San Antonio's north central submarket. Inland Mortgage Corp. provided the bridge loan for the project.
AUSTIN-The software developer for physicians and hospitals heads to the southwest submarket and exits the northeast. It's the second sublease deal in recent months for 3001 Bee Cave Rd. EClickMD needs the extra space for its growth plan.
BASTROP, TX-The new store is part of a 283-acre development at the intersection of Texas 71 and Loop 304. The store opens in mid-July, then allowing the national retailer to focus on a September ribbon-cutting in Sunset Valley.
AUSTIN-Dell Computer again tries a retail strategy that involves real estate instead of telecommunications. A similar play was attempted in the early 1990s. This time, Dell takes a safer tact by renting mall kiosks.
AUSTIN-The state says it's going to clear a record-breaking number of enterprise zones before the fiscal year's end. To date, 33 have been set up in comparison to last year's 14. The record was 36 in 1990.
