During an afternoon general session at MBA CREF, panelists estimated a 13% increase from 2021's volume of $900 billion and encouraged the audience to "be nimble" going forward.
According to leaders in the securitized lending space at this week's MBA CREF conference, SASB issuances "are the cleanest" but there is still a lack of transparency in the market.
"Rebounding property fundamentals and strong valuations, record sales transaction volumes, and low interest rates all fueled commercial and multifamily borrowing and lending activity that easily outpaced previous periods."
Attendees are looking forward to the MBA CREF 2022 not only to get a sense of where the capital markets are headed, but also to get some face time with colleagues and clients.
