BOSTON-MassHousing had its strongest lending year ever in its 38-year history. The quasi-public agency provided $704 million in financing for more than 7,000 housing units in fiscal year 2004, which ended June 30.
BOSTON-670 Albany St., a 160,000-sf biotechnology research building within the BioSquare complex, nails $46 million in construction and permanent financing. The building is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2005 and is 60% preleased to Boston University and Boston Medical Center.

ANDOVER, MA-Genesis HealthCare renewed its lease of 29,200 sf at 200 Brickstone Square, which is part of a one million-sf office complex. The company, a long-term care and rehabilitation therapy provider, renewed its lease early in order to reduce its occupancy costs.
BOSTON-Evergreen Investments, a division of Wachovia Corp., renews its lease for 195,301 sf at 200 Berkeley St. The 756,000-sf tower has 20 of its 26 stories occupied by John Hancock Insurance. Beacon Capital acquired the building last March when it bought the John Hancock complex.
HUDSON, MA-The town's board of selectman approves the sale of an eight-acre parcel off Route 62 to Sullivan Hayes Cos. The development company plans to build a shopping center on this site and on an adjacent parcel it already acquired in neighboring Berlin.
STURBRIDGE, MA-Coherent General sells One Picker Rd., a 58,344-sf manufacturing facility, to Sturbridge Realty Trust for nearly $1.4 million. The deal includes nearly 25 acres of additional property which the new owners plan to develop.
BOSTON-Suffolk University has signed a master lease to take over 73 Tremont St. as space becomes available in the 300,000-sf building. The deal is part of the university's commitment to shift its campus location to Downtown Crossing.
SHREWSBURY, MA-Metso Automation USA leases 41,000 sf at 28 Bowditch Dr. The company, which specializes in automation and information management application networks and systems, has its offices up the block at 44 Bowditch Dr.
HINGHAM, MA-Barnes & Noble Inc. opens a new 25,000-sf bookstore in the Derby Street Shoppes at Route 3 and Derby St. Last year, Newton, MA-based SR Weiner Associates and its affiliate W/S Development Associates converted the 450,000-sf shopping center into an open-air lifestyle center.
